Which Teams Have Been Europe’s Draw Specialists This Season

The 2024/25 elite European football season is drawing to a close and it’s time for the trophies to be decided. Liverpool’s recent 1-0 win at home to Everton in the Merseyside Derby has seemingly wrapped up the English Premier League title race, with the Reds now a massive 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with just a handful of games remaining. Over in Germany, the same can be said of Bayern Munich, as they look well set to reclaim the Meisterschale from Bayer Leverkusen.
In Italy and Spain, however, the title races are a far closer run thing. Both Inter Milan and Barcelona currently hold all the cards, but any slip-ups from those two could open the door for Napoli and Real Madrid to bulldoze through. And all of that goes without mentioning UEFA’s continental competitions, with the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, all now at the quarter-final stage.
Throughout the current campaign, many teams have shone. Some, however, will have to settle for the unwanted moniker of draw specialists. While such a tag might be unwanted inside each respective club, it’s an absolute dream for punters who like to bet on the draw outcome week after week. Here are the three clubs that have drawn the most games this term.
Everton
Premier League outfit Everton were struggling earlier in the season, with the former manager Sean Dyche leaving them teetering on the brink of relegation. However, he has since been relieved of his duties, and former manager David Moyes has returned to his Goodison Park home.
Since he returned to Merseyside, the Toffees have been on an upward trajectory. Before their recent defeat at Anfield, Everton were on a run of eight games without a defeat, with five of those being draws. Four draws on the spin between February 22nd and March 15th took the club’s overall tally to a mighty 13 for the entire season, and that number could still increase before the season is over.
Everton have some difficult-looking games looming on the horizon, but on home turf, they are always in with a chance of avoiding defeat. The bookies certainly seem to think that draws are a distinct possibility. They recently played out a goalless draw with high-flying Athletic Bilbao in San Mames, proving that they can secure a result even against difficult opponents and on hostile territory. While draw bettors will be hoping the streak of results continues, Osasuna supporters most certainly will not.
They currently languish down in 14th in La Liga, and they are closer to the relegation zone than they are to the European qualifying slots. If they don’t pick up some wins soon, their campaign runs the risk of turning into a disappointment. However, with more close contests upcoming against the likes of Leganes, Girona, and Sevilla, further draws are to be expected.
Juventus
Juventus were once the dominant force in Italian football, claiming nine straight Serie A titles between 2012 and 2020. However, those days are long gone, and the Bianconeri have been undergoing somewhat of a rebuild in recent campaigns.
Last season, they managed to return to the UEFA Champions League after a testing 2022/23 season that saw them docked points and finish in seventh place. This term, they look well set to secure a seat at European football’s most elite dining table once again. But supporters will be wondering what might have been if they could have just turned some of their 13 draws into victories.
The Old Lady had a strange old record earlier in the season. They were the team in Europe that went the longest without losing a game at the start of the season, playing some 21 games before they lost their first contest away at Napoli on matchday 22. You could be forgiven for thinking that such a run of form would surely see them sit near the top of the table, but we’re afraid you’d have to think again.
Of those 21 unbeaten games, Juventus drew a whopping 13 of them, leaving them down in fifth place in the table. Strangely, they haven’t picked up a draw since. Of their nine games since losing for the first time in Naples, Juventus have won six and lost three. As such, it might be worth avoiding betting on them to pick up draws throughout the final weeks of the campaign, with their current haul proving somewhat deceiving.
