Sturridge has asked for more time to respond to a charge of allegedly breaching strict FA rules on betting, says the Mirror.
The Liverpool striker was originally given until 6pm Tuesday to answer the charge from the Football Association.
Instead, 29-year-old England international Sturridge submitted a request to the independent judicial panel that will oversee his case.
The request is expected to be granted, though the panel will rule on how much longer he’ll be allowed.
Sturridge allegedly breached a single rule relating to placing bets on football.
