Both Teams to Score is the one market on this site that ignores the final result entirely. It doesn't matter who wins, loses, or draws — only whether both sides find the net at some point in the match. That makes it a different kind of read from almost everything else we publish: instead of judging which team is better, we're judging whether both teams are likely to threaten goal at all.

What This Market Actually Means

A BTS selection settles "yes" the moment both sides have scored, however the match finishes. A 3-1 win counts, a 1-1 draw counts, even a 4-3 thriller counts — the only way it misses is a clean sheet from either team, regardless of the final scoreline or who came out ahead. That's a genuinely different question than our goals-total markets, which only care about the combined count, not which side is putting the ball in the net.

How We Pick Both Teams to Score Fixtures

We look for matches where both sides have attacking output worth noting and defenses that haven't been keeping things tight recently — a strong away attack against a leaky home defense, or two mid-table sides who've both been involved in open games lately. A dominant favourite against a defensively organised underdog is exactly the kind of fixture we'll leave off this board, even if the favourite is heavily expected to win, because a clean sheet win is a live outcome there.

Reading the Odds on This Market

BTS odds move on the defensive side of a matchup as much as the attacking side, which makes them a useful signal on their own. A short price usually means both defenses have been shipping goals lately; a longer one often points to at least one side that's been difficult to break down. Comparing this board against our Over 1.5 and Over 2.5 markets on the same fixture can be informative too — a match priced short on both goals and BTS suggests we expect an open, high-scoring game from both ends of the pitch.

Where Both Teams to Score Fits Alongside Our Other Markets

We publish this as its own board rather than folding it into the goals markets because it answers a genuinely different question — Over 1.5 and Over 2.5 care about the combined total, while BTS cares specifically about whether each side individually gets on the scoresheet. A match can clear Over 2.5 comfortably on one team's goals alone and still miss BTS if the other side never threatens; the two markets can and do disagree on the same fixture. Reading them side by side, rather than assuming one implies the other, tends to give a fuller picture of how we expect a match to actually play out.
