Double Chance Predictions
Fixtures where covering two of the three possible outcomes gives a meaningfully safer read than picking a single winner — filed each morning alongside the rest of our daily card.
The Double Chance Card
This board covers Double Chance specifically. If you're after a different market, browse all our prediction categories to find one that fits how you bet.
What's Behind Our Double Chance Predictions
Double Chance is the market we point beginners toward first, and it's still one our more experienced readers reach for every day. Instead of picking a single outcome from three, a Double Chance selection covers two of them at once — home win or draw, or draw or away win — trading some of the potential payout for a meaningfully wider margin of safety. It's not a way to avoid risk entirely, but it narrows the ways a pick can actually go wrong.
What 1X and X2 Actually Mean
1X covers a home win or a draw, ruling out only an away win. X2 covers a draw or an away win, ruling out only a home win. There's a third combination, 12, covering either team winning but excluding a draw, though we use it far less often since it discards the outcome — a drawn match — that's genuinely common in football. Which side of the pairing we back tells you plainly which result we think is least likely, without us having to spell it out in prose.
How We Pick Double Chance Fixtures
This market works best when one side is a clear favourite but the underdog has shown enough recently to make an outright bet on the favourite feel unnecessarily exposed — a strong home team against a mid-table away side, for instance, where a draw is a live possibility but an away win looks unlikely. We're less interested in fixtures between closely matched sides, since Double Chance loses most of its safety margin when all three outcomes are genuinely live.
Reading the Odds on This Market
Double Chance odds sit noticeably shorter than a straight match-result pick on the same fixture, because you're backing two outcomes instead of one — that's expected, not a sign the selection is weak. What's more useful is comparing the price across today's card: a fixture priced close to evens even on Double Chance usually means the match is genuinely unpredictable, while something priced well below that reflects real confidence in ruling out the excluded outcome. We list every price alongside the tip for exactly that reason.
Where Double Chance Fits Alongside Our Other Markets
We treat this as a companion to our straight match-result picks rather than a replacement for them — readers who want the higher payout of a single outcome have that option on our main daily card, and readers who'd rather trade some of that upside for a steadier hit rate have this board instead. It sits apart from our goals markets entirely; Double Chance says nothing about how many goals a match produces, only about which result is ruled out.
As on every board we publish, the odds column reflects how the market was actually pricing each selection at the time it was filed, not a promise about the eventual result.
